The Crestone Freebox was born in 1994 from a seed of trust: that what one friend no longer needs, another friend is waiting to find. In a mountain town where the sacred and the scrappy live side by side, that seed grew roots deep and wild.
It's more than a free store. It's a living, breathing testimony to community. Walk in, take what calls to you, and leave what you've outgrown. No price tags. No gatekeeping. No ego. Just people taking care of each other.
The building, blessed with murals by local artists, is a display of community. "Scrappy, sacred, and giving" is a way of being around here. And it's how we've kept the good vibes flowing for three decades and counting.
